Guwahati, Feb 3: In a heartwarming moment during his official visit to Kaziranga on Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, affectionately known as “Mama”, endeared himself to a group of madrasa students.
The leader engaged in a lively interaction with the children, donning traditional prayer caps. Lightly patting, smiling, and even joking with the kids, Sarma was not shy to allow them to come near and touch him despite having Z+ security cover. With a smile on his face, he asked them about their life in Madrasa, to which the kids replied without holding any back. Their interaction hardly resembled an exchange between a Chief Minister and young children, it looked more like they had known each other for a very long time.

Smitten by the humbleness and warmth of the CM, the children expressed a desire to explore the inside of the Chief Minister’s helicopter. Without hesitation, CM Sarma, accompanied by his security detail, fulfilled their request. Holding his hands, the children walked to the helicopter used for his official visits. Although he had initially told them to only observe it from the sides, seeing the expectancy in their eyes, he allowed them to sit inside.
The video, which was shared by the CM on his social handles, has gone viral with many praising him for his humbleness and connection with the people.
As he bid farewell, the Assam Chief Minister wished the children success in their future endeavors, advising them to remain focused on studies that would pave the way for a successful life.
